Either way, you should know the basic kinds of locks for window security that are available. There are two main lock sources that provide the most effective.
Fanlight Locks: These locks are made from steel and often have a bolted latch that must be undone to open or close and lock the window.
Key Operated Locks: these window locks are, as you may have deduced, openable only with the proper key. These types of locks require a bit more forethought as only the keyholder may operate them.
